Book signings, etc.

I’m just starting to set up some booksignings for the new novel, which comes out September 27, 2010.   I’ll post them as soon as I know the dates.

If you want a book signed, I’ll happily send you a signed adhesive bookplate.  Or ask your local bookstore to invite me to come do an event there!

hello Claire. I have been reading your book The Smart One and the Pretty One and I read your readers note on your website saying to tell you if I had gotten one of your books that had part of another in it. And well I did. Though i don’t quite remember which store i have narrowed it down to two. The first being Barnes and Noble in the Chino Hills Shoppes and the second being Borders in the Chino Spectrum. Your publisher doesn’t have to send me another book I would just like to what happens in the part that got cut out. This is the first book i read that you have written and it has left me wanting to read another. Thank you for taking to the time to read this.

Epic Fail is the best book ever. Please make a sequel. I have the book, and I don;t really know how these book signing things work, but could you sign mine? I know there’s this thing where you can ship the book to author, and the author signs and ships the now-signed book back. And please make another. Derek and Elise have captured my heart..without them, I’ll die.

I’ve read Epic Fail 5 times now and i love it more every time. Would you consider writing a second book about George. Like a prologe but a whole book of it. Thanks,
    Pia R

Thanks, Pia! Georgia does deserve her own book. I’ll think about it!

My book club just finished our discussion of “Families and Other Nonreturnable Gifts.” We thoroughly enjoyed the book. One question – could you explain your dedication? My co-workers thought it might be a reference to something/someone/somewhere in the Boston area. I am from Boston and don’t make any connections to the reference.Would you be willing to discuss the dedication?

Again, we enjoyed “Families ” and celebrated Keats’ leap of independence. Now on to Epic Fail.

  15. Claire

Thanks, Julie! It’s a strange dedication, I know. It’s basically a reference to my husband’s investment club–that’s the simple answer, anyway!

Hi Claire! I got both books, The Trouble with Flirting and Epic Fail, for christmas. I’m not going to lie, when I first got these books my first thought was ” Oh dear god, not another cheesy romance.” But as I began to read Epic Fail, I was pleasantly surprised by it. After finishing it in about a day ( without being able to put it down, might I add) I moved on to The Trouble with Flirting. I was even MORE into it than Epic Fail ( If that’s even possible)
and just finished it today. I am more than excited for your new book 🙂 I think it’s safe to say that you’ve gotten yourself a bit of a fan 😉

  23. Claire

I’m so happy to hear that! Thank you for letting me know you enjoyed the books so much!

Hi Claire! I am a huge fan and have loved every book of your I read. I came across your novel Knitting under the influence last summer at a used book store and decided to pick it up because of my love of knitting. Let me just say that it was amazing! Since then I’ve read, Families and other nonreturnable items, The trouble with flirting, The smart one and the pretty one, If you were here, you’d be home and I’m currently in the middle of Epic Fail! Every book has been as good if not better than the previous! I just ordered Wrong about the guy and can’t wait until it arrives. I would love for you to some book signings for Wrong about the Guy!

  27. Claire

    Hi Claire!

I love reading your books, even those for YA (I’m 32 by the way). I enjoyed your novels for adults even more, my favorite being ‘Families and other non-returnable Gifts’. Do you have any plans to write more novels for adult please? Been looking forward to more of those books!

    Thanks,
    JC

  29. Claire

I do! My next published novel WILL be YA (although definitely the older end of YA, so I’m hopeful adults will like it too) and I’m working on something that I’m honestly not sure about at this point–I’m waiting to see how it goes and whether it feels more YA or adult. Thank you for your nice note!
