So far it’s only available on Amazon, but it should start popping up in bookstores soon.  And at Target!  I hope you’ll check it out.  And come visit me on my FB page.  Or in person at any of the booksignings listed there.

I keep feeling like Steve Martin in The Jerk.  Anyone else remember how he gets so excited when the new phonebook comes out and his name is listed?  He cries out, “Things are going to start happening to me!”  And then there’s a smashcut to a crazy man closing his eyes and sticking his finger down randomly in the phonebook, then reading the name his finger is on and saying, “Die, Navin Johnson.”  Yep, that’s me.  All starry-eyed and excited because my book is available on Amazon.

Things are going to start happening to me!

It never works out the way you expected, though, does it?

Just finished the book and loved it. Am now a Claire LaZebnik fan. As I was reading “What Mom Gave Me” the last 3 paragraphs made me think about moms and children losing it (anger) with parents. I wish I had realized it was because they can and because they feel it’s a safe place to lose “it”. I think of the times I took it personal and shouldn’t have. Claire, thanks for the lesson. Even though my children are grown I will pass this lesson to them so they may weather their children losing “it” with understanding and compassion.

Aw, thanks, Martha. The essay may be my favorite part of the book, so I’m glad you brought it up. I miss my mom.

I actually stumbled across this book on my break from work, (I work at target) and I was looking at the books near the baby books because I am an expecting mother, only 20 years old. I read the back and instantly wanted to read the book. I cannot explain how much I got excited to actually have my little baby girl reading about the relationship between Noah and Rickie; and seeing the father-son relationship that Andrew brought to their family.
You are an absolutely amazing writer, this took me no time to read because I was hooked! You write so that we can actually feel the emotions; I felt myself understanding the relationship between Mel and Gabriel, as much as you hate him for cheating, you love the way they work as a family and you want them to be together.

Sorry for taking up so much time but I just wanted to let you know I really loved this book and I will definitely be reading more of yours.

My mother recommended this book to me and even thought the subject matter didn’t exactly match up with my own life I’m moving back into the parental home at the end of the month and struggling with the question “what am I doing?!” Rickie was a good insight into my own life. Loved it.
